Hi I finally got around to releasing a second album The Witchmaker. This albums similar to my first in that it's ambient but has more variety in style and sound, There's dance music, Krautrock and Psychedelia as well as ambient, There's also more audio instruments and guitars where's as my first album was mainly composed of V.S.T's The album is kinda dark but there's no dark drones that go on forever nor are there any pads that take forever to evolve. it's more Space Ambient than Dark ambient
The first track Boathouse has got the most attention and it's easy to see why it sounds fantastic, However it could easily come from a Brian Eno album or similar artist The Wtchmaker has some real special moments including some howling Velvet Underground like bowed parts and a String synth in the breakdown which is to die for but like most long tracks there are some boring moments in the middle, anyone say Tangerine Dream.
The Transcenders is another standout track recorded in 1996 An electric guitar echo peddle and pair of scissors was all that was used, Very Syd Barret like at his most ambient, Only problem was it was recorded on a dictaphone. The Best track on the album is Grizzley Adams for this track i used a 1979 tape of myself narrating a story about Grizzley adams ( I was 6yr's old at the time) I put the music to the track in May of this year, Guitar and effects. A largly genre less piece of music, it sounds great I'm a little peeved this track hasn't got a better response, Maybe people don't want to hear a childs voice narrating a story? but while it doesn't look good on paper it sounds great in reality. It does remind me that the most important job a musician has is to produce the most original sounding music and still make it sound good. So dive in have a listen and check it out
Added artwork from cdbaby page... do you have a larger version somewhere?
