Short Story: Michael Griffin - "Remodel With Swan Parts"

My good friend Mike Griffin - who you may know from his excellent ambient albums as "m griffin" - or possibly more as the founder of Hypnos ( http://hypnos.com ) has had a short story published.  He's been writing his entire life.

I've read the story - I really liked it - it's science fiction.

Here's what Mike posted to the Hypnos forum - link to story below:

I already posted about this on Facebook, so many Hypnos Forum regulars have already seen this, but here's my "brag" for those of you who missed it.

A science fiction short story of mine was published today at a science fiction, fantasy and horror webzine called Electric Spec. The story is "Remodel With Swan Parts," and it's available here:

http://www.electricspec.com/issues/volume-6-issue-2-may-31-2011/rem...

Of my story, the editors of Electric Spec say:
And for those of you who are wondering just how far the trend of botox and boob jobs will go, check out "Remodel with Swan Parts" by Michael Griffin. Safe to say, the trend ain't pretty.

Thanks for the comments, notes and pats on the back delivered via Facebook today.

Thanks, John. Thanks for letting people know -- though it's a little weird to have people who only know me from the ambient music scene checking out my fiction.

I'm always happy to let people know about things I like!  This is the first thing I've read from you - and you can be sure I'm in line for the next!

It's a good excuse for me to get my Ning membership updated and come over here, check things out.

I read it and am impressed and scared at the same time. I think this level of body modification is inevitable once people find a way to do it. I see people with "work" done all the time now, not to mention tattoos everywhere.
