a community supporting ambient music, art, poetry, photography, games and more
This week (3/4) is the final show for Nightscaping Radio, and for this special extra-long "With A Little Help From My Friends" edition I’ll be paying tribute specifically to the various artists I’ve gotten to know over the years
Hello rM community friends..
I'm excited to announce the release of a new album called Mystic Zones! Some of you may remember an earlier version of this album released back in 2007 on MySpace. This album was finally finished last month after a long hiatus from the project.
I also want to give a BIG shout out to Steve Brand for his graphic design help with my cover's and layout of my Void Music bandcamp page.
Thank you for your support of my music..
1) What / Who inspired you to write this album?
In short, Nature. Long hikes deep into the forest and stargazing into the unknown on clear nights.
2) What are you trying to say with this album?
I'm trying to convey the sense of mystical zones found in nature. The eternal power from an old forest that connects you with the Earth. Energy that charges your core and inspires you to be a better person and a tool for change.
3) What gear did you use?
Both hardware and software synthesizers also a few field recordings.
4) What kind of process do you go through to write your music?
First, I get inspired to create. On this album I tapped into mystical experiences from hikes out in Sand Ridge Forest. Over the years I have took photography and recordings deep in these secluded woods that I am able to bring back to the studio. I am drawn by that forest's pure and untapped energy.
Second, I bring that inspiration back to the studio, hit record and let the music flow..
5) Who did the artwork / design?
I took the photograph and Steve Brand did the graphic design.
6) Tell us about your background in music.
I have been tapped into the soundcurrent since I was around 12 years of age. Music is a big part of my life and I can not ever see myself not creating. Whether I am out with my camera or in my studio, I have a strong urge to create, evolve and move forward..
