I'm very pleased to announce the launch of Anodize, a subdivision of the Periphery label. Limited to 300 copies, Anodize titles exude silver in all its opulent glory, each featuring real-world manufactured CDs housed in rectangular, collectors edition tins containing a two-panel art insert.
For your listening pleasure, Anodize presents the following three editions:

WITHIN REASON Transient Broadcasts
> NOW AVAILABLE
The label's opening salvo comes in the form of the stunning new album by Within Reason (Gregory Kyryluk, aka Alpha Wave Movement) forging a bond between 70s Euro space fantasias, the skanking digital substreams of Basic Channel, and contemporary slo-mo rhythmic auteurs such as Bvdub, Vladislav Delay, and Wolfgang Voigt’s Gas. Transient Broadcasts codifies his previous recording’s sultry velvet groove and logically progresses forward, auguring a headspace of sumptuous dynamics amidst its rippling digital environs.
Embracing a variety of mood-states and tonal dualities, Transient Broadcasts relies on Kyryluk’s skillful execution to rearrange ‘familiar’ tropes into a chilly otherness, as rubbery beats sink into foggy embankments and pulsations ebb in thickening concentric circles. Most current practitioners of what is nominally known as dubtech or ambient techno or any other pat genre shorthand are content with the tried-and-truisms of reverb and delay; Kyryluk‘s fascination with sound processing reflects an omnivorous interest in electronica’s last 40 years of experimentative zeal.
Seizing a myriad of influences (Eno, early era Tangerine Dream, 90s post-techno beat culture, fourth-world semiotics) to navigate the opaque membranes separating analog church from digital state. Kyryluk’s not obsessed with reinventing the wheel but remains well aware of how its characteristics can be effectively modified. Transient Broadcasts speaks for itself, deftly illustrating how indeed everything old can be new again.

AUTUMN OF COMMUNION AUTUMN OF COMMUNION 2
ISHQAMATICS TITLE TBA
> BOTH NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER
Early June will see the eagerly anticipated release of the second disc by Autumn of Communion, the duo of Lee Norris (Metamatics, Norken, Nacht Plank) & Michael Gainford (Mick Chillage). Autumn of Communion was not only their debut on Pete Namlook's legendary Fax label, but his untimely passing meant it was the label's swansong as well. Anodize is proud to be releasing the duo's beautifully constructed follow-up, simply called Autumn of Communion 2. AoC 2 works through minimal and maximal zones of abstract sound, a very Fax-like record in feel that recalls not only the heyday of early 90s experimental IDM/environmental space music hybrids but some of the classic Namlook generated albums of that period.
To whet the appetite even further comes another meeting of great aural minds, the first collaboration between the erstwhile Lee Norris and well-known ambienteer Ishq. Dubbing the project Ishqamatics and shrouded in secrecy, they're currently hard at work finishing up the as-yet-untitled recording, due for release on Anodize in the fall.
Stay tuned for further developments.
