i just thought i'd put the final track from my E.P with Ellom on here, too - i think i should have put it up when i did the original blog about it's release. it's shameless self promotion, i know, but i think it's a nice piece, and probably one of my more "hopeful" sounding tracks to boot ;-) you can hear the rest of the E.P (5 tracks) if you click on the cover image in the "member releases" section (thanks to Joel!) :-)
so - Yes.…

This was recorded somewhere around 2 or 3 am on a four hour overnight show on the WNUR radio station in Evanston - broadcasting to Chicago and the internet - hosted by Phonaut.
I'm playing bass - mostly straight bass on this track - although at other times during the night I was doing a lot of controlled feedback and various noises sourced from the bass.
James Johnson had a bevy of DX200's, microKorgs, electribes, and loops. The lovely piano in this is from him.

Mathias Grassow's vast discography includes also many archive recordings on CDr formats and the original double CDr release of "Sky", released back in 2000, belongs to most treasured of them. Now, thanks to young Swedish label Gterma, "Sky" was revised and edited, with some new parts added, making one album on… Continue

"Living At A Higher Frequency" is an introduction of Julio Di Benedetto's music released on his own Digital Voices imprint at the end of 2008. It's quite unusual when artist debuts with 2CD album, and on the top of that, packaged in beautifully looking and decently designed 6-panel digipak. Applause for Julio (and Taylor… Continue

When discovering this amazing co-work album more than one year ago (released in May 2009), I was already familiar with Oophoi's long body of work, but the name of Enrico Coniglio was brand new to me. Fortunately, this changed quickly during the following months. Back to this rewarding collaboration,… Continue

I'm very, very proud to announce the new album by Lowell on my label. I've played it many times over the last few months and I truly enjoy the emotion and raw feeling Lowell emotes from his bass and from found objects. He describes his work as "primitive ambient" - and that describes it well.
Some of this abum is challenging - certainly. Some of it dives into the emotional beauty of bass guitar - gently moving. Some of it evokes the raw tension of post-rock. It even hints at…
