"Nevermore" project brief/call for ambient tracks for release

Posted on October 28, 2014 at 6:00pm 0 Comments

RadHaus US (the studio's label) has begun a new project that we're calling Nevermore, which has turned into a surprisingly large and well received undertaking!

It starts with a field recording. The raw recording is somewhat crude, as you might expect; I only had my phone to do it at that time. The crows around here -- ravens, really -- don't just "CAW", they have this interesting percussive purr, and I recorded some of it, along with some other sounds: A dog barking, a distant train,…

It all started with a mad idea

You may or may not have heard about RadHaus US, the mobile recording studio that I've been building out for a few months now. Well, someone (*coughJKNcough*) thought it might be a good idea to tell stories about it as the project moves forward. Great suggestion!

So. It all started with a mad idea.

I've been a broadcaster for 30 years, and I've always enjoyed traveling. I've been broadcasting off and on for major market stations…

Some fun additions to the RadHaus campaign

Hey, friends,

We've made some good progress on the RadHaus Kickstarter Campaign, and today added a couple of really great new perks: At the $50 and above level, my friends Rob Paulsen and Debi Derryberry (you might know them as Yakko Warner and Jimmy Neutron, among other characters) have generously agreed to…

Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas, Rebekkah. Your show has really been a gift this year. Truly, it's my favorite part of my weekend wind down routine, and has been especially needed in this positive but very stressful and busy year I've had just past.

Best wishes and continued success to you in the coming year, especially with your new ventures :)

Heya, Shetech. Hope your New Year is going well thus far :) I'm loving the beats broadcasts you've had. Have you seen this, speaking of beats?

Yep Yep! I downloaded the podcast last night, listened today :) I hope to get an I pad or some such with such apps, being the musician I am. I'd be composing all day! :P

Heya, wanted to say Thanks again for the live set with the app before I go to bed. You all totally rocked :) It appealed to all my sensibilities as an artist, the poetry, the ambient scapes, the instrumentation ala the flute. :) I can't wait to download it from SS archives and listen to it with full attention and for meditation in on my living room and bedroom steroes :)

LEMNISCATE

From here to the edges of eternity,

the figure of a lemniscate calls out to me in my souls veins,

the ambience of stars starshines making the music of the spheres,

as I feel the eternal energy of the lemniscate pulsate throughout my body in sinusodial waves...

A fragment of poetry about infinity inspired by your infinity show. Be well!! :)

Heya, I just downloaded all your stuff on your arts page, giving it a listen :) I listened to the premiere podcast of "At Waters Edge." I had tuned in late on that show, didn't realize it was the premiere. Your show is one of my very fave podcasts in a long time :) I enjoy it muchly.

Cool to see the diversity what you do, the Opera, the business end of things, and hosting/voice overs. It reminds me of how I've come to live, having many interests in many diverse fields. It's a fun way to live, isn't it? It makes life so rich.  :) Keep up the excellent work.
