"So this distributor is interesting if you don't sell a lot because you can keep the release cost cheap. if you sell a lot, other distributors might earn you more money because some of them, like CD Baby, don't keep a percentage from what…"

Apollonius commented on John K-N's blog post Has anyone used IndiGoBoom digital distribution?
"Yes, but if I'm right CD Baby doesn't keep anything coming from iTunes or other digital stores. So the artist gets the 70% ($7 dollar in your example for iTunes). CD Baby, I believe, only take a percentage (10%) from what an artist sells…"

Apollonius commented on John K-N's blog post Has anyone used IndiGoBoom digital distribution?
"Thanks John. I was just looking for an alternative to CD Baby. So if I understand correctly, they keep 85% of what I get from iTunes (who takes 30%)? I'm really interested so I might send you an e-mail soon."

Profile Information

Tell us about yourself!
My name is Eelke van Hoof.I'm an ambient artist (a.k.a. Apollonius/Human Metronome). My main interests go out to human evolution and consciousness on a rapidly evolving planet. I started making ambient music in 2005 with my soulmate Wasili Papadopoulos and have issued several albums since 2009. Our music can be described as a mix of organic, tribal, minimal and dark ambient likened to the works of Robert Rich, Oöphoi, Steve Roach and a hint of Lustmord. Sound sources are taken from softt synths, to singing bowls, guitars and field recordings. Our music has a strong reference to the organic world and the mysteries of ancient cultures. If one is open to it, it has the ability impact one's consciousness quite profoundly.

Together with 33 Tetragammon I did a gig on the E-Day 2009 festival in Oirshot, The Netherlands, which was also the c.d. presentation of our debut album 'Resonating Earth'. In february 2010 two songs from their debut album were aired on the Hearts of Space radio program called 'Sacred Singing Metals' (PGM 902) and in october 2010 their follow-up 'Spectral Solitude' was broadcast on 'Apparitions' (PGM 928). Our music has been aired on various other radio shows (e.g. Strar's End, Ultima Thule, Galactic Travels, Ambient Aether Space Continuum).

Compassionate Being by Apollonius & 33 Tetragammon

Posted on December 16, 2013 at 7:51am 13 Comments

It's been a years since my latest release and this year I have teamed up again with my trusted partner in 'ambient music crime', 33 Tetragammon. It has been quite the year: we've each had our personal challenges and at one point we ended up with both of us…

'Philosophical' review Birth of the Real Self by Piedpaper

Posted on November 25, 2013 at 12:00pm 2 Comments

This review is one of the most entertaining I've ever read. It's not about 'immersive soundscapes' or any of those descriptions but about what the listener (Ukranian Tim Six from review site Piedpaper) feels inside. Not only that, he elaborates on various topics which on the surface don't have anything to do with ambient music but to me it has everything to do with it. Here it is:

preview track from new album by Apollonius & 33 Tetragammon

Posted on October 20, 2013 at 2:19pm 6 Comments

Here's a track from our upcoming album release 'Compassionate Being'. The title is still unknown so therefore we use this working title. All tracks are mastered and now we're putting them in the right order.

Enjoy, Wasili and Eelke.

My reattunement

Posted on May 29, 2013 at 5:35am 9 Comments

Been away for a while. Here's what happened: at the 10th of april me and Wasili (33 Tetragammon) fell victim to a burglary (or attracted it to us). One of us got into a fight with him and the whole thing became very nasty. Eventually the doped up offender got away with all equipment that had the 'Apple' logo on it. (two iMacs, a Macbook pro, an iPad and and an iPhone). The whole incident has completely changed our lives, eventually in a good way. The computers symbolized our old…

ha ha.. not all of us are 'gun nuts', though..  I'm afraid Americans are just as susceptible to stereotypes as everybody else.. apparently we're all 'rednecks from Texas, we're all loud and rude, and we all got more money than God'... hee hee.. (if only that last part were true!)

Thanks for the kind comments re the poetry :-)
