Tell us about yourself!
Chad Kettering began his musical journey as a professional trumpet player. For many years he performed with various orchestras and small ensembles throughout Texas and Colorado. Along this path he discovered the unlimited power of pure sound as an art form through the use of electronic instruments, digital workstations and audio sound processors. Drawing upon techniques used in sound design and musique concrete along with the inspiration of ambient electronic music pioneers, Chad patiently developed his sound and approach over several years to emerge with a deeply personal and accomplished musical statement. Today he continues to push these influences into new directions.

"Good point about not knowing where the knobs are at with encoders. John makes a good point about the expression pedal connection. I have just recently put an expression pedal on my controller so the MS2000s get it and it does come in handy."

"I think I like the wider one better - easier to use both hands at same time, more space to rest your fingers next to the control.  What about an expression pedal connection?  Is that possible?"

"The Brain you may use encoders or pots. So the value will always move once you move the knob if using a pot but I think with an endless rotary encoder it will just move from wherever the value is on the software instrument so no jumps. But the…"

DIY Midi Controller Project

For years I have been looking for the best midi controller. There are a ton of options out there but many of them are designed with cost as the driving factor. Quality parts are never used and you are left with a heap of plastic that doesn't feel like a quality interface to the touch. Ever since diving into the world of analog modulars the one thing that has always impressed me even more than the sound is the quality of the components. Wonderful solid feeling knobs and potentiometers that…See More
