Located on the south-western edge of the Silická Plateau in the Slovak Karst National Park, close to the state border with Hungary. Domica Cave forms a single genetic unit with the Hungarian Baradla Cave and is the most known and longest cave of the Slovak Karst National Park. Except for important geomorphological features, it is interesting by precious archaeological findings, occurrence of flowstone shields and drums, as well as numerous bat species presence. At present, public has access to 1,315 m, including the 140 m long underground boat ride on the Styx River. Boat ride is available only during appropriate level of underground water. World Natural Heritage, approved in December 1995. August 2009.
